Sparky's Return

I love this cute "Sparky's Return" graphic shirt that I picked up on clearance at Hot Topic (I think it was only about $5). How can you not like Frankenweenie with all its classic horror references?! These distressed high waisted shorts also happen to be from a Hot Topic sale and were only $8!

The added flannel was thrifted and adds an effortless grunge touch to the overall look. In my opinion there is really no reason to ever pay full price for a flannel, if you know where to look there is always tons of variety! At your local thrift make sure to check ALL sections, little boy's larges usually fit me and in the mens section you can find some nicely oversized ones.

These white Dr. Martens were bought with my first paycheck a while back. I researched for a while before I bought them, and the best deal was on Amazon (link below).

Unfortunately after shooting these photos I lost my camera attachment that allows me to remotely focus and take pictures of myself. I really hope I find it soon! It makes blogging so much easier!

Black Metal

I've been very busy moving this past month, (and decorating the new place!) so my outfits have to be not only cute, but comfortable. Dresses are such an easy way to look put together. This one in particular is perfect for the transition between summer and autumn, when it's super humid here in Ohio. I paired it with my metal covered leather sandals by Prabal Gurung and layered my favorite necklaces and bracelets.

Tartan Summer

It can get pretty humid in the summer here in Ohio, so it can be hard to be both cute and comfortable. A skirt is a great choice in this weather, especially this super comfy skirt in red tartan. I picked this one up at Hot Topic. The added converse are casual, but also stick with the punk look of the pleated skirt. I also wore my usual assortment of black bracelets, but this outfit didn't feel complete without a statement necklace, I chose this red one from H&M.

"BAD" Ass Camouflage

I made sure not to miss out on an opportunity to wear green this year for St. Patrick's Day. I don't have much green in my wardrobe, but I do own some camouflage pieces and today I chose this vintage USMC military jacket. I found it at a thrift store for only $10.

Camo is such an effortlessly bad ass print. This jacket is so perfectly warn in too. I also added some buttons I've acquired in the past year and small metal studs. My buttons from left to right: Knives by Andy Warhol, cover art from Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, and a Ouiji Board. I try to always keep studs around for craft projects (especially personalizing thrifted items!). This week I found a couple packages of small studs at Michael's craft store. You can also find cheap studded belts at the thrift store and remove the studs to use later.

I also painted this "BAD" t-shirt. I love singular words on t-shirts, and couldn't find exactly what I wanted in a store so I decided to make my own. Painting shirts is probably my favorite craft project! I usually load up on plain t-shirts and fabric paint during sales at craft stores. And for inspiration, I'll usually research fonts (I use FontSpace!) and use those as a reference when drawing my design.

Color Blocking

I'm always looking for new and interesting places to take outfit photos and I thought this old building near my school would be a perfect opportunity to show off my new color blocked coat from SheInside. To keep the coat as the statement piece I paired it with black neutral pieces.

Plaid Monster

So glad the weather has gotten better so I can start taking outfit pictures outside again.  During that time I was able to do some after Christmas shopping and I picked up this sweatshirt and plaid pants at Forever 21. I also just started my next semester this week so this will give me a lot of opportunities and locations to take more outfit photos.

UNIF Trench Boots

Couldn't wait to wear these UNIF high trench boots after I received them for Christmas. I love that they make me taller without being heels. They're definitely eye catchers! Here I paired them with one of my favorite pairs of leggings that I found at a local beauty surplus store for only $14. They feature the names of fashion capitals around the world.

Thrifted Shirt to Stylish Dress

Don't be afraid to picture things in a new way while thrifting. I gave this over sized shirt a new life by wearing it as a loose fitted dress. I love how the black detailing starts at the waist making it easy to streamline my legs by pairing it with black tights and black leather ankle boots. I amped up the look by adding matching red lipstick and my favorite hat.

Dead Plants Romance

When paired with black and silver accessories and my favorite spiked Jeffrey Campbells, this dress gives off a romantic gothic vibe that's nothing short of badass.
